Role Overview:
- We are seeking senior legal professionals to serve as Pod Leads for teams of approximately 16-20 trainers.
- Pod Leads will be responsible for both hands-on production of high-difficulty, expert-level legal tasks and gold-standard solutions and the day-to-day leadership, coaching, quality assurance, and calibration of their pod.
- This role requires strong legal expertise, sound judgment, and leadership ability. Pod Leads will actively contribute to task creation while guiding their teams to produce technically accurate, practical, consistent, and professionally rigorous legal work.
Role Description:
- Lead and manage a pod of approximately 16-20 team members, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of expert-level legal work.
- Actively produce high-difficulty legal tasks and gold-standard solutions alongside pod members as a hands-on legal expert.
- Develop, evaluate, and refine complex legal tasks involving contract drafting, legal analysis, regulatory interpretation, and related areas of legal practice.
- Review and quality-assure pod outputs for legal accuracy, depth of reasoning, practical applicability, consistency, and alignment with professional legal standards.
- Establish and maintain gold-standard solutions, evaluation criteria, and rubrics to ensure consistency and quality across the pod.
- Coach and mentor team members, providing clear and constructive feedback to strengthen legal reasoning, task quality, and overall performance.
- Manage pod workflows, priorities, and delegation while maintaining accountability for both individual contributions and overall team output.
- Identify recurring quality issues, edge cases, and rubric ambiguities, and escalate complex or unresolved matters to the Functional SME (Expert) Lead.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance team environment through clear communication, active listening, empathy, and effective conflict resolution.
- Drive continuous improvement in task creation, review, calibration, and quality-assurance processes while maintaining strong legal judgment and professional integrity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of legal practice, preferably at Senior Associate, Counsel, or equivalent level.
- JD or equivalent legal qualification with active US bar admission.
- Strong expertise in contract drafting, legal analysis, and regulatory interpretation.
- Experience in reviewing, mentoring, managing, or quality-assuring legal work.
- Excellent communication, leadership, judgment, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills.
