About the Job
Turing is looking for candidates with strong experience in law enforcement, public safety, or government operations, particularly at the level expected for supervisory or command officers (e.g., Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain) in local, state, or federal agencies.
Role overview:
- In this role, you will contribute to projects that help evaluate and enhance AI systems using your expertise in criminal justice, investigative procedures, and interagency coordination.
- No prior AI experience is required.
- These projects will help you explore how AI can be leveraged to support evidence-based decision-making, enhance officer training, and strengthen investigative and operational analysis across public safety systems.
What does day-to-day look like:
- Design and solve real-world law enforcement and public safety scenarios to test AI reasoning.
- Write clear, structured explanations covering supervisory decision-making, tactical coordination, and policy-based procedures.
- Evaluate AI responses for accuracy, ethical reasoning, and operational integrity.
- Collaborate with researchers to refine AI understanding of criminal justice systems, policing protocols, and community engagement frameworks.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in law enforcement or public safety, including 2+ years in a supervisory or command role (e.g., Sergeant, Lieutenant, or equivalent).
- Background or certification in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Homeland Security, or Public Safety Administration preferred.
- Strong understanding of criminal procedure, chain of command, and interagency coordination.
- Excellent English communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to explain complex operational decisions clearly and objectively.
